Designed for filmmakers who demand uncompromising protection for their glass, the RingLid is the newest addition to the world of CineStill lens modding caps. Unlike friction-fit designs, this threaded plate-style lid screws into any standard internal thread for rock-solid, locked-in protection—all while delivering a pro-grade look.

Its minimalist, CNC-machined aluminum construction features a black, anti-reflective anodized coating for a clean aesthetic, rugged durability, and minimal weight. Your RingLid is laser engraved with bold text for effortless lens ID—available in branded styles or fully custom to match your lens.

Whether you’re running a matte box or a stripped-down rig, the RingLid adapts to your workflow without compromise. It’s fully compatible with any threaded front ring and can even stack with a standard CineLid for ultimate redundancy.

We get it—most people haven’t designed their own lens cap before. That’s why we’re here to help, every step of the way. While other custom cap stores slap on a warning (“text will be engraved exactly as typed—no edits, no returns”), we take a different approach.

With LensLids, you choose your level of control. After placing your order, we’ll either guide you through the design process step by step, or hand over full creative freedom.

We do ask that you provide the brand and model of the lens the cap will pair with. Based on that, we’ll send you a selection of design options to choose from. Once you’ve made your pick, we’ll send a proof for your approval before production begins.

If you're the hands-on type, you can also request a blank design template—with tolerance lines—so you can craft your cap layout exactly how you want it.

⚠️ Heads-Up: Because the RingLid screws into the SlimRing or FrontRing, which in turn screws into your lens threads (all with varying thread depth), the engraving will most likely not be upright/lined up when mounted on your camera body. This is standard for threaded gear and does not affect function — but if alignment matters to you, check out the CineLid, which can always be turned upright due to it's friction fit..

RingLid FAQ

What size do I need?

The RingLid attaches directly to the internal filter threading on the FrontRing and SlimRing. For a proper fit, the sizes must match. For example, if you have an 80mm Outer Diameter (77mm Front Filter Threads) FrontRing, you'll need a 77mm RingLid

Although we don't recommend it, the RingLid can be used as a standalone lens cap. However, due to its low-profile design, it can be difficult to screw on and off. For easier use as a standalone lens cap, we suggest the LensLid.
