Lens Filter Diameter

The lens filter diameter is based on the front threads of your lens. To ensure you're selecting the correct front filter diameter, please consult our comprehensive Lens Filter Diameter Reference Chart. Front Filter Diameter

The SlimRing is currently available in two different sizes to accommodate the most common filter sizes used. The 77mm will accept 77mm threaded filters, while the 82mm will accept 82mm threaded filters.

What size lens filter diameter do I choose?

The lens filter diameter is determined by the size of the lens’s internal filter threading. Most lenses display the filter diameter on the inner ring or elsewhere on the lens. For any modern lens, you can find the front filter diameter listed under the SPECS on B&H. We also maintain a growing resource page for less common lenses.

Choose the diameter that matches the filters you already own or plan to use. 77mm and 82mm are popular standards, offering the best value in price and compatibility with most lenses.

The SlimRing is compatible with both the RingLid and LensLid. Each lid screws into the internal threads of the SlimRing for a secure, reliable hold.
